Arugula
Arugula is a tender leafy green with a mild peppery flavor, similar to the mild kick in other brassicas like radishes, turnips, and even raw broccoli. This green tastes quite bitter when the growing conditions are too warm, so we only offer arugula in the early summer and late fall for best flavor. Available in May and June, then again in October, enjoy your fresh arugula while it’s here! It makes an excellent base for a leafy salad but can be used in many other ways, including: on top of pizza, in pestos, on sandwiches, cooked with eggs, in pasta dishes, and more!
Storage Tips
You’ll either receive a bag of arugula or a bunch of arugula. Our bagged arugula can go straight into the fridge! If you receive a bunch, in a slightly breathable bag or container in the fridge. An airtight container may cause slime; too much air will wilt the leaves. If your arugula looks a bit limp from travel, revive it by rinsing in cool water and then drying. Store with a paper towel in the container to absorb excess moisture. Arugula is tender and perishable! Plan to use promptly for best results.
