How Does Your (CSA) Garden Grow?
What is a CSA?
A CSA program stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It offers its members a way to buy local, seasonal produce direct from the farm. Members subscribe in advance for a share of the farm’s summer harvest, which is delivered to their preferred pickup location. This partnership benefits both farmers and consumers: farmers receive payment early in the season, which helps greatly with startup costs, while consumers save money and gain access to the freshest local produce of the season. Both farmers and members benefit from this shared local food economy where transparency, community and connection reward everyone.
