Cover crops have had a long warm fall to get established ahead of winter. This fall we seeded mostly rye to hold onto nutrients, reduce erosion, add organic matter, and suppress weeds. We’ll have lush green fields as soon as the snow melts in the spring.
Featherstone x Hoch organic apples! We are so excited to have organic apples for our CSA again this winter- and more than ever! This fall we picked and stored many bins of fruit and this week we have been sorting and preparing for both bags and JUICE! It’s been such a fun project and we can’t wait to share the fruits of our labor with winter CSA members all winter long.
Tomatoes in November?! These have been a real highlight around the farm this year. We planted these in July, added just a little supplement heat for night below freezing, and have had beautiful fruits for both winter CSA and wholesale.

You’ll enjoy crops like kale, cabbages, winter squash, potatoes, and onions alongside tunnel grown spinach and lettuce and other greens. You’ll also enjoy awesome goods from other local producers like apples, cider, honey, mushrooms, flour, oats and more. PLUS our program is completely customizable so you never have to receive something you dislike, and can trade for items you love! There’s still time to sign up for a prorated share. We’re taking the time to do a little extra r & m on our winter tunnels this week! Lupe and Jose have been repairing doors and curtains and getting structures set up for the frost blankets we use when temps drop below 20. Winter is coming!
